Mike and Jess Blair opened their new Deli, Coffee Shop and Gallery in Crown Square in Matlock on Saturday the17th March.

I’m sure everyone who knows them has been impressed by their hard work and determination to get everything right and finished on time.
So despite Mike only having 9 hours sleep over the previous three days and looking a little jaded, they invited friends and family to their launch party on the Friday evening.

We were impressed by the fantastic choice of products on offer and particularly liked the cheeses. There was an excellent assortment for everyone, even the connoisseur.
I hadn't seen Brie of such quality since our last visit to France. The Brie you buy in the supermarkets, even the more upmarket ones could never match these cheese’s for quality and freshness. Each cheese was served with the appropriate biscuit, I tried the Oat Digestives with Walnut, which goes particularly well with Goat’s Cheese. In fact the next day I had to go back and buy some more cheese and biscuits of my own, to enjoy at home with a
glass of wine.

Mike and Jess have an obvious passion for food, and their philosophy for PeliDeli is to have only products in their shop, that are either Organic, Fresh, Fair-Trade and most importantly Local.

PeliDeli sell a good variety of products, from top quality Balsamic Vinegar, Organic Olive Oil, Olives, (lots of different flavours and variety) , Salami, Parma Ham, Artichokes, the sort of products that would be hard to find anywhere else locally.

PeliDeli is also a great place to relax have a Cup of Coffee and a Snack, the Stilton and Mushroom Panini is on my list to try next time I visit, just try and keep me away!!
Whilst you relax, you can admire the art work that is displayed around the walls. They have seating in the window, so you can watch the world go by, or you can sit in their comfy couches, or have a Coffee an Panini takeout, delicious!
